UPDATE: This issue is closed. The new SSO Certificate was applied to Vault settings earlier than announced - see Trust post for information.
Detailed SAML instructions and guidance remain available in Vault Help.
Investigating: SSO Login Failures Across some Vault Environments
Issue Summary:
We are currently investigating an issue where users are unable to log into Vault via Single Sign-On (SSO). This was caused by the new SSO Certificate being applied to Vault settings earlier than announced. (For reference, see Veeva Release Notes.)
Immediate Workaround (Vault Admins):
Vault Domain/System Administrators can restore user logins immediately by logging into Vault and reverting the Single Sign-On (SSO) Profile configuration back to the previous (old) certificate. Please reference https://rn.veevavault.help/en/gr/certificate-rollover/#rollback.
We apologize for the disruption and will provide another update by 1:30 am PT as the
engineering team is currently assessing if any further corrective action will be taken.
Latest Update:
Our engineering team has completed their assessment, and no further action will be applied by Veeva. To avoid further disruption, the new SAML certificate will remain active on Vault configurations.
Direct email communications have been sent regarding this incident and next steps.
Restoring User Access (Immediate Workaround):
Vault Domain Administrators can immediately restore login access for their users using one of two options:
-
Option 1 (Complete Transition): Update your Identity Provider (IdP) configuration to trust the new SAML certificate. This will align your IdP with Vault's active setting and permanently resolve the issue.
-
Option 2 (Revert Vault Setting): Log into Vault using local/non-SSO credentials and manually revert the SAML Profile configuration back to the previous (old) certificate under Admin > Settings > SAML Profiles.
Detailed instructions and guidance remain available in Vault Help.
If you are an administrator requiring login assistance or support with your SAML configuration, please submit a high-priority ticket with Veeva Product Support.
We sincerely apologize for the disruption caused by this premature update. This ticket will be closed on 7/31 at 10:00 am PT.
Issue is closed.

Veeva Maintenance Notification
Veeva Vault is scheduled to roll over the signing certificate used to sign SAML Single Sign-on requests and Spark Messaging connections. There is no expected downtime however user logins may be affected if proper action is not taken.
Your Veeva Vault Domain(s) use one or more SAML SSO profiles where the new SAML
certificate will be automatically rolled over on July 31, 2026, at 6:00
pm PT.
IMPORTANT
Customers are encouraged to test the new SAML certificate during the New Certificate Testing Period (starting July 17, 2026, at 7:00 pm PT and ending July 31, 2026, at 6:00 pm PT). Both the old and new SAML certificates are supported during the testing period and can be accessed through Vault Admin > Settings > SAML Profiles.
- Many
Identity Providers, including if you use Okta or Microsoft Entra ID/Azure
AD, update certificates automatically. In those cases, no
action/configuration change is required on the IDP side.
- Note the
following changes from prior certificates:
- The
new certificate will be self-signed. This means that the rollover process
will return to occurring once every three years.
- Due to
moving to self-signed, customers using ADFS may need to disable the
SigningCertificateRevocationCheck setting in the ADFS Relying Party Trust
setup.
- After
testing is complete in Sandbox, to prevent user disruption, we recommend
all other domains (including Production) be configured to use the new
certificate before the testing period ends (July 31, 2026, at 6:00 pm
PT).
- At the
end of the testing period, all SAML Profiles of all Vault Domains will be
automatically switched to the new SAML certificate (July 31, 2026, at
6:00 pm PT).
- If there
is an issue, the old certificate can be reinstated until September
4, 2026, at 6:00 pm PT, when we will automatically switch all profiles
to the new certificate (with no possible rollback to the old certificate).
Additional details and guidance can be found in Vault Help.
Changes to dates or times will be posted to this message.
